Hello, my name is Heaven Hicks, and I’m currently a junior at Rice University majoring in Political Science and Sociology, with a minor in African and African American Studies. Outside of academics, I serve as an Ombud on the Honor Council and an FLI Ambassador with the Office of Student Success Initiatives. I am passionate about research, particularly in understanding the intersections of identity and social justice issues. In my free time, I enjoy exploring different cultural perspectives through reading and engaging in thoughtful discussions. My future plans include pursuing advanced degrees in either international relations or law, with the aim of advocating for marginalized communities on a global scale.
