Heather King

Hi! I'm Heather, a PhD student in the English Department at Rice.

My research focuses on Post-45 literature and film, with a particular emphasis on the uncertain term, genre, and archive that we call the Global Anglophone. Within this, I look at autofiction, social reproduction, and understandings of realism. I have also published on human-animal relationships in contemporary cinema.

Before I started at Rice, I got my MSc in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and my BA in Politics and International Relations from Queen Mary, University of London. Right now, I also work as a copy editor for an English literature journal and hold the position of editorial board member for an online public philosophy journal.

I am looking forward to meeting you at a CAPC consultation and assisting you with whatever you are working on!
